YOUR JOURNEY · 4 STEPS

What happens, and when

  1. 1
    WEEKS BEFORE

    Talk it through

You meet your surgeon to talk about your pain, your goals and your options. Robotic-assisted surgery is one of them, and it is not right for everyone.

YOU CAN ✓Bring a list of questions ✓Bring someone you trust ✓Ask about risks and recovery time
  2. 2
    1–4 WEEKS BEFORE

    Your plan is made

You have a CT scan of your leg. Your surgeon uses it to build a 3D model of your knee and plan the size and position of your new joint.

YOU CAN ✓Ask to see your plan ✓Prepare your home for recovery ✓Start exercises your physio gives you
  3. 3
    THE DAY

    Your operation

Your surgeon does the operation. A robotic arm helps them follow your plan closely. Your surgeon is in control the whole time. Most operations take 1 to 2 hours.

YOU CAN ✓Ask what anesthesia you will have ✓Plan for someone to take you home ✓Most people stand up the same day
  4. 4
    WEEKS AND MONTHS AFTER

    Your recovery

Most people go home within 1 to 3 days. Physiotherapy helps you get stronger. Many people return to daily activities in 6 to 12 weeks. Individual results may vary.

YOU CAN ✓Do your exercises every day ✓Keep your follow-up visits ✓Call your team if something feels wrong
